Soul of Sydney and 2SER’s Groove Therapy Radio are hosting a ‘Funk Fundraiser’ Block Party at a ‘Secret Funk Oasis’ this Sunday, with the location to be emailed to those who purchase tickets.

Running from 1-8pm, the party will be headlined by Brooklyn’s DP ONE, an active member of the Heavy Hitters and Turntable Anihilists who has toured internationally with the likes of Lauryn Hill, Estelle and John Legend. The “kid friendly” fiesta doubles as a fundraiser for 2SER, the community radio station that has flown the flag for soul, funk, disco, hip hop, house and Afrobeat sounds over the years. Local DJs Shan Frenzie and Paris Groovescooter, both renowned for their roles on 2SER, will also be DJing along with Phil Toke, Michael Zac, Eadie Ramia and DJ Say Whut.

The Block Party will also comprise a live Sydney street art project showcase featuring Billy Kid, with tickets a mere $5.
