Party starter Andrew W.K. is returning to music, after moonlighting as an advice columnist and a motivational speaker, among other things.

Andrew W.K.’s new album will be out March 2, 2018 – no cover art or title has been given yet.

“I’m going for the sound of pure, unadulterated power,” he explained of the album. “Every emotion, every thought, every experience, every sensation, every fear, every joy, every clarity, every confusion, every up, every down… all extruded and concentrated into one thick syrup of super life-force feeling, and then psychically amplified by the celebratory spirit of glorious partying.”

W.K’s twin 2009 releases were rather odd: Gundam Rock, a Japanese-only collection of songs from the cartoon Gundam, and 55 Cadillac, an instrumental, improvisation piano album. The closest thing to a traditional rock album last came in 2006, with Close Calls with Brick Walls.
