On Thursday March 30, a large scale, multi-venue exhibition will take over Sydney and show off the best in contemporary Australian art.

For the inaugural edition of The National: New Australian Art, The Art Gallery of New South Wales, Carriageworks and the Museum of Contemporary Art have teamed up to spread modern Australian art around Sydney. They plan to connect The Domain, Redfern and Circular Quay through the artworks.

This project is part of a six-year plan to be presented in 2017, 2019 and 2021. The primary goal is to explore and display the latest ideas from contemporary Australian artists.
