Murruwaygu: following in the footsteps of our ancestors is the latest exhibition from the Art Gallery of NSW andexplores the traditional line work specific to Aboriginal men from south-east Australia and its translation across generations.

Curated byformer Art Gallery of New South Wales curator Jonathan Jones, the exhibition identifies the shared experiences, relations and ideas that bind together the indigenous community and is the result of over a decade of research and work.

The exhibition features work by Tommy McRae and William Barak, Roy Kennedy and HG Wedge, and Steaphon Paton and Reko Rennie, along with a series of shields specific to the south-east region.

A free symposium will be held at the Art Gallery of NSW on Saturday November 28 at 11am. The exhibition opens from Saturday November 28 until Sunday February 21.
