The initiative is inviting artists to submit their applications for next year’s year-long residency program.

Artspace has announced applications are now open for its One Year Studio Program for 2017, offering artists a free residency from March 2017 to February 2018. A panel comprised of Artspace staff and external judges selects seven artists to feature their projects in a substantial studio space, along with a host of access to curatorial networks, participation in public programs, and an overall connection to the broader art community, both locally and internationally.

Now entering its third year of this brilliant initiative, with a 10-year vision to support 70 artists with free studios, the program offers artists a year-long residency in a rent-free studio space. It represents an ongoing commitment to promote, develop and support new work and artists, and all within an inspiring and responsive environment with access to professional facilities through its association with UNSW Art & Design. Past residents have developed work for local and national exhibitions, as well as having been represented in major international projects across Asia and Europe.

Applications to take part in the free year-long residency close at midnight AEST on Monday October 31. Submit your application here.
