The new exhibition, to be opened by Sculpture By The Sea founding director David Handley, will run through October.

An exciting new exhibition curated by Margarita Sampson is set to open at Stanley Street Gallery on Thursday October 6.

Borne, which brings together a varied range of emerging and established sculptors, reconsiders the context and material of body-adornment and jewellery. It explores how we have come to define jewellery and our frame of reference towards the medium, with a sometimes-playful and unpredictable response to the challenge from many of the artists involved.

When does artwork become wearable? How can we use materials, and what materials can or cannot be used? How does the body animate the works? These are but a few of the questions posed by the new exhibition, which includes new work from 28 artists.

Stanley Street Gallery will host the opening of the Borne exhibition on Thursday October 6 from 6pm to 8pm. More info can be found here.
