A contemporary farce by Uruguayan playwright Gabriel Calderón –My Little Doll (The Farce) – has been translated into English by director Veronica Barac, and will play at UNSW’s Studio One theatre.

The play centres around an elaborate revenge plot within a dysfunctional upper-middle-class family, narrated by the family’s butler.

The plot sees a young woman becoming a pawn in her uncle’s scheming against her father, and dances between“burlesque and grotesque” as the woman adopts her doll as an alter ego.

The dark comedy takes audiences on a powerful journey through the minds of its twisted characters, with the original Spanish production –Mi Muñequita (La Farsa) – shocking audiences all over Latin America.

My Little Doll plays from Tuesday October 18 – Saturday October 22 at Studio One, UNSW. Tickets here.
