Sydney CBD retail and lifestyle precinct The Galeries has joinedArt Month Sydney, transforming in to a living gallery for the duration of March.

As part of Sydney’s city-wide festival Art Month, which celebrates contemporary art and artists, The Galeries will be transformed into a living gallery of street art in an installation aptly namedArtists’ Playground.

The first makeshift gallery to be added to the festival’s lineup of established galleries,The Galeries’ curation aims to support emerging artists on the contemporary scene, celebrating accessible art in a public forum.

The Galeries will also initiate its inaugural Emerging Artist Award, offering $4,000 prize money and a mentorship with Art Month Sydney creative director Barry Keldoulis as well as $1,000 prize money for a People’s Choice winner.

The Artists’ Playground exhibition runs at The Galeries until Thursday March 31.
