The Japan Foundation in Sydney is to present an exhibition from Australian photographer Brett Boardman.

Mono No Aware: The Poignancy Of Thingswill explore ideas about shelter and home and most notably incorporates images of the Katsura Imperial Villa, a cultural landmark of Japan located smack-bang in Kyoto, the former imperial capital. Boardman is by trade usually an architectural photographer, but in this exhibit he will be dipping his toes into social commentary. The photographer planned his work to also be viewed in an architectural and documentary context.

Mono No Awarewill run at the Japan Foundation Gallery in Chippendale from Thursday February 26 – Saturday April 11. For more info, visit the Japan Foundation’s website.
