For her latest body of work, Australian artist Sally Simpson has used ocean debris to craft a series of delicate and intriguing sculptures.

Objects For An Unknown Future Museumuses the detritus of ocean life, both organic and inorganic, to explore the relationship between the human and natural world.

Dried out fish bones, coral and shells are brought together with man-made objects like resin and rope collected from shores all over Australia to form figures that recall ritual and cross-cultural practices of object-making, exploring the age-old human urge to understand and control the natural world.

Objects For An Unknown Future Museumwill run from Wednesday 7 September to Saturday 21 October at Stanley Street Gallery, Darlinghurst. Head here for more information.
