One of the smokers set to feature at Parramatta Park’s Australia Day barbecue can cook up to 350kg of meat at once. If a stat like that fails to make your stomach turn, then this is the event for you.

The most proud of Aussie traditions, the humble barbie, is set to be celebrated in a big way at Paramatta Park’s Australia Day Big BBQ. The event will host over 30 food stalls, and will show off a dazzling array of carcass-cooking implements, including a range of American smokers and grills.

It’s perhaps the most ‘Strayan way to celebrate ‘Straya Day this side of dressing up in an Aussie flag and parachuting off the Harbour Bridge while whistlin’ ‘Waltzing Matilda’, so all true blue blokes and sheilas should get on it. ‘Struth, and all that.
