After blowing away audiences in South Australia,The Popular Mechanicals, a play inspired by Shakespeare’sA Midsummer Night’s Dream,will debut at The Wharf this April.

Based on characters fromA Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Popular Mechanicals was written byKeith RobinsonandTony Taylorin 1987. The play follows the backstory of the Mechanicals, a group of characters featured in the Shakespeare classic.

Now, the Sydney Theatre Company is teaming up with director Sarah Giles to bring the highly praised play to The Wharf in April.

The Popular Mechanicals debuts Thursday April 6 and runs through to Saturday May 13. Tickets will set you back $55.
