It’s about dust bunnies, the slow passage of time and the very nature of mortality. But mostly dust bunnies.

Remembering Babylon, a new art project by Andrew Christie, is set to hit Waverley Library in 2016. In order to construct the work, Christie has spent months collecting dust and dust bunnies from the library, casting them into moulds resembling some of the library’s lost books.

A melancholic exploration of loss and the way technology has begun to overtake the printed page, the work has also been designed as a tribute to the library and the incredible knowledge it has housed for so many years.

Remembering Babylonis set to run from Wednesday March 30 till Thursday May 12. More information can be found on the Waverley Library website, here.
