After last year’s sold-out run, rock musicalRentis set to return to Hayes Theatre Co.

Jonathan Larson’saward-winning musicalopened off Broadway in 1996 and quickly became a cult phenomenon. It tells the story of a group of bohemian artists struggling to survive and make a living in New York City while dealing with love, loss and the threat of HIV/AIDS.

Stephen Madsenreprises his Sydney Theatre Award-nominated performance as Mark, andLinden Furnell, who won a Best Newcomer Glug Award for his performance as Roger, will also return to the role. Newcomers includeAngelique Cassimatis(King Kong, Strictly Ballroom) andChloe Zuel(Les Miserables, Legally Blonde, Hairspray).

Rent opens on Tuesday March 29 at Hayes Theatre Coand continues until Sunday April 17.
