Great news theatrelovers. Following its 2013 sell-out season, the award-winningThe Secret Riveris cascading back to theSydney Theatre Company this February.

With Neil Armfield (Keating!,Holding The Man) in thedirector’s chair, Andrew Bovell’s (When The Rain Stops Falling,Lantana) adaptation of Kate Grenville’s novel is in good hands.

This landmark productiontellsthe story of two families divided by culture and land. And itexplores the heartbreaking and often brutal conflict between transported thief William Thornhill and the Dharug people on whose land by the Hawkesbury River he attempts to settle.

The staging also gives a voice to the land and the river, and shows how human stories are uniquely shaped by their environment.The Secret Riverdepicts a turning point in the development of Australia; a fork in the road with the chosen path resulting in consequences we all live with today.

The cast includes Nathaniel Dean (Somersault),Trevor Jamieson(Rabbit-Proof Fence) andJoshua Brennan (Underbelly Badness).

The Secret Riveropens at the Roslyn Packer Theatre,Sydney Theatre Company on Monday February 1 and runs until Saturday February 20.
