To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the ANZAC landing at Gallipoli, the cinema cultures from Turkey and Australia will come together for the annual Turkish Film Festival this year.

The festival showcases a vast diversity of genres with action-packed historical romances, comedy, family drama and coming-of-age stories.Last Letter will be the opening film from writer, producer and director Ozhan Eren,set in Gallipoli during WWI.

Directors attending the festival include Nesli Colgecen, Ozhan Eren, Faruk Hacihafizoglu, Ilksen Basarir, and first-time director Tunc Sahin.

The film festival will take place at the Dendy Cinema in Newtown from Thursday April 16 to Saturday April 18.
