Big Day Out have announced their highly awaited replacements for the vacant Blur slot on the festival bill: Beady Eye, The Hives and Deftones.

After what felt like endless days of speculation, a trio of rockers have been announced to join the bill.

Beady Eye couldn’t be a better fit, the Oasis offshoot band led by Damon Albarn’s old sparring partner Liam Gallagher. The Hives, meanwhile, return to a country that’s hailed them as festival legends in the past, and for good reason – their live show never fails to go tick-tick-tick-tick-boom. And after lasting through a tumultuous history, Deftones will be delighted to come back for their Aussie fans once more.

Big Day Out goes down at Sydney Showgrounds on Sunday January 26. Tickets and more info at bigdayout.com.
