High school students will soon have the opportunity to see Sydney's best productions for cheap, via a new 'theatre passport' scheme. 


The City of Sydney has today announced that it will be funding $85,000 to creative organisations in order to allow young people to experience theatre for affordable prices.

The City of Sydney is calling on musicians, performers, residents, businesses, music industry representatives and government agencies to help review the city’s busking policy.


Currently, buskers have almost free reign to pay a small fee (a three-month permit is $13) to busk on City of Sydney land but the city is looking into ways to bolster its policy.

The City of Sydney has today announced a number of exciting initiatives aimed at improving the night ecomony, nightlife, local music scenes, and basically moving towards fixing our city of culture.


It's all part of Sydney's Live Music and Performance Action Plan, which was implemented in 2014.

A 50-metre-tall steel arch will be installed on George Street outside Sydney Town Hall, as part of the City of Sydney's new public art project.


Cloud Arch, designed by Tokyo's Junya Ishigami, will ensure the Sydney CBD will never look the same again. It will act as a gateway to the new pedestrianised and light rail sector of George Street.
