The battle between Barnaby Joyce and Amber Heard’s dogs continues as Heard shares a pic of her newest family member.

It all began when filming Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales in Queensland. Amber Heard and ex-husband Johnny Depp brought their two dogs Pistol and Boo into the country without declaring them.

In what was a surreal moment in history, Joyce threatened to have the two dogs put down unless they were sent home in 50 hours.

Joyce explained to the media that “A gentleman by the name of John Christopher Depp, 51 years old, otherwise AKA Jack Sparrow” had flaunted biosecurity laws.

“It’s time Pistol and Boo buggered off back to the United States”

Though Joyce’s threat seemed too extreme and overly theatrical, he was self-aware enough to realise that he probably wouldn’t be getting an invite to the premiere of the new Pirates.

In response, Heard and Depp filmed an apology video (seemingly at gunpoint) where they were “truly sorry” for not declaring their dogs when entering the country.

Since the event, Kevin Murphy (Depp’s former estate manager) told a court that “[Heard] wanted [him] to say essentially that it was [his] fault in one way or another that the paperwork wasn’t completed, so that [he] could take the blame for her”.

Heard allegedly threatened Murphy’s job and “would have made [his] life miserable”.

Unsurprisingly, she has since said she will “Avoid the land down under… thanks to certain politicians there”

Though somewhat ironically, Heard seems to have invited Joyce to live with her! (Stay with me)

In a recent Instagram post, the saga has continued with Heard having named her newest dog ‘Barnaby Joyce’.

Though I don’t see the resemblance. He has far too much hair and is nowhere near red enough.

A strange but fitting homage to the politician, this does seem a fitting end to what was a defining moment in Australian history.
