If it isn’t already apparent that Janelle Monáe is one of the most shockingly overlooked performers of the last decade or three, listen to her latest single, ‘Make Me Feel’.

It’s a stunning Prince-esque slice of pop, which isn’t surprising considering Prince was working with Monáe on “collecting sounds” for her upcoming record Dirty Computer (out April 27) before he passed. I bet he suggested the album title too – it’s pretty Prince.

As for the subject matter – as the song says: “Baby, don’t make me spell it out for you.”
