While there’s been a lot of talk lately about SoundCloud’s rumoured imminent demise, the Internet is abuzz with further rumours right now after a cryptic Tweet from Chance The Rapper in which he stated that SoundCloud is “here to stay”.

While SoundCloud’s CEO Alexnder Ljung recently rejected the rumours that the music streaming service was running out of cash, rumours of the company’s demise following massive layoffs have persisted. While the company haven’t released any further details as yet, the most intriguing aspect of the saga is the recent entrance of Chance The Rapper into story.

Chance, whose career began thanks to SoundCloud, recently Tweeted out a message which seemed to indicate that he has had contact with SoundCloud’s CEO, and tried to organise a resolution to the company’s apparent crisis.

Taking to his Twitter account, Chance The Rapper sent out a rather cryptic message in which all he said was “I’m working on the SoundCloud thing,” before he sent another message which was seemingly directed at potential unsigned artists of the future. Most interestingly though, his last message relating to the issue came later that day, in which he said “Just had a very fruitful call with Alex Ljung. SoundCloud is here to stay.”

While SoundCloud’s Twitter account later retweeted Chance’s final Tweet, they have yet to offer any actual confirmation as to Chance’s involvement in the matter. Whatever the case is, we’ll definitely be following this story as it continues to develop.
