The master of folk blues and traditional sprituals, Minnesota nativeCharlie Parr, will return to Australia in 2016 for his first headlining tour.

Following on from successful appearences on national tours supporting Paul Kelly, You Am I and spots on festivals such as Sunset Sounds and Wave Rock, Parr has fast become a favourite with Australian audiences, noted for his dedication to authenticity within the American roots genre, and is now returning Down Under in support of his latest album, Stumpjumper.

His first album release with acclaimed indie lable Red House Records, Stumpjumperharks back to the sounds of another era, Parr switching between acoustic guitar, dobro and banjo with his unique finger-picking style and unmistakeable resonant vocals in a style that reflects several of his influences, such as Lightin’ Hopkins, Woody Guthrie and Leadbelly.

Charlie Parr performs at The Vanguardon Friday February 26 and Brass Monkeyon Tuesday March 1.
