It’s been four years since Cloud Control released their last album, 2013’s Dream Cave, and despite the time away, the band haven’t been hibernating in said cave since, but have instead been forging away on their third album, Zone, which will be released on September 1. It even has a song named ‘Mum’s Spaghetti’ on it, for those who were talking shit about how they aren’t Sydney’s answer to Eminem.
Listen to their latest single ‘Zone (This Is How It Feels)’, a trippy, loop-based tune that slides further from their more organic beginnings.
“It’s our album’s flagship song,” says lead vocalist Alister Wright of the single. “It’s sort of like breathing out.”
“We surprised ourselves by how much we liked it. The song became a symbol of tenacity, pushing forward despite everything. It tied the whole album together,” adds keyboardist Heidi Lenffer.
The group will launching the new album at The Metro on September 22. Tickets go on sale tomorrow from 9am.
