Sydney’s celebration of all things Latin America is gearing up for a spicy weekend this October.

It seems like every second person in Sydney just got back from travelling around Latin America. “Oh, this poncho? It’s from Bolivia.” “Oh, this jersey? Got it at The World Cup.” Then there’s the fact that Sydney is home to the highest number of Brazilian-born immigrants in Australia. This makes Darling Harbour an excellent choice for celebrating Latin American culture.

It’s hard to know where to start with the jam-packed festival program. Have you ever seen Venezuelancomedy? How about Street Football Stylers? Then there’s the music:Flamenco del Mar, Quimbombo, percussion band Samba Ninja and beats from DJ-Afro.

You might not know which way to look, but it probably won’t matter. Plus, there’ll be fireworks on the last day. If there’s one thing Sydneysiders enjoy more than travelling to Latin American countries, it’s probably fireworks on the harbour.

The Darling Harbour Fiesta is being held from Saturday October 11 until Sunday October 12. Full program details are available online.
