Pawno is the new film by Paul Ireland, and it follows a day in the life of the Melbourne suburb of Footscray. 12 characters filter in and out of the local pawn shop, their narratives of romance and struggle intertwining throughout. The cast includes the likes of John Brumpton, Kerry Armstrong, Tony Rickards and Maeve Dermody.

A Q&A screening takes place on Tuesday April 12 at Chauvel Cinema with David Stratton and Margaret Pomeranz, while the film releases in cinemas nationally on Thursday April 21.
