The International Cat Film Furstival, organised by RSPCA NSW, is set to debut in Sydney next month.

There’s no doubt cat films have taken over the world, at least in terms of their contribution to popular culture. After all, where would the internet be without cats? So it’s about time they got a film festival of their own, and Sydney’s leading the way.

Expect a legion of the best cat videos from around the world, alongside other feline-friendly festivities including a Cattoo Purrlour and food trucks. By way of inspiration (and because we haven’t used up our bandwidth for cat videos this month), here’s one of our favourites:

The International Cat Film Furstival is on Sunday October 5 at Bicentennial Park, Glebe.
