Following thecancellation of their first Melbourne showandpostponement of their Sydney show, the entirety ofJanelle Monáe and Kimbra’s Golden Electric tour has now been cancelled.

A statement issued by Live Nation, promoters of the tour, reads:

“It is with great regret that Live Nation announce that the remaining dates for Janelle Monáe and Kimbra’s Golden Electric Tour have been cancelled, due to Janelle Monáe’s continuing illness.

Ms Monáe became ill after arriving in Australia, rendering her unable to perform at the opening night of The Golden Electric Tour in Melbourne at The Forum last Saturday May 17 and causing the postponement of the Sydney Opera House show scheduled for Monday night.

Ms Monáe has remained in Melbourne under medical supervision but has now been advised that she should not attempt to perform at this time, leaving no alternative other than to cancel all remaining show dates scheduled for the Australian and New Zealand tour.

Ms Monáe is devastated at not being able to perform for her fans and has vowed to return to our shores in the not-too-distant future.

Ticket holders will be contacted by the relevant ticketing outlet to advise of the process for obtaining a refund. Live Nation wish Janelle Monáe a full and speedy recovery. Janelle Monáe, Kimbra and Live Nation apologize for the disappointment to fans and ticketholders.”
