We’ve heard some pretty crazy stories about the recent solar eclipse, including how Bonnie Tyler decided to sing ‘Total Eclipse Of The Heart’ during the event, but we think US rapper Joey Bada$$ may have taken the cake when it comes to crazy eclipse-related behaviour.

As triple j reports, Joey Bada$$ took to Twitter on Tuesday to talk about how ridiculous he thought all the warnings about not staring at the eclipse were.

“Am I crazy for watching the eclipse today w no glasses,” he wrote. “I’ve sungazed before and afterwards saw colors for a whole day. I didn’t die tho.” Joey Bada$$ later followed this up with another Tweet that continued his defiant nature. “This ain’t the first solar eclipse and I’m pretty sure our ancestors ain’t have no fancy eyewear. Also pretty sure they ain’t all go blind.”

Of course, plenty of people took to Twitter to try and deter Joey Bada$$ from partaking in such behaviour, including one champion who noted that if he was to do that, he might have to rename himself ‘Joey Badeyes’. It seems that Joey Bada$$ probably should’ve taken the advice, because the next day, he took to Twitter to share some bad news.

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, my Cleveland, Chiago & Toronto shows on the #EverybodyTour are cancelled,” he wrote on Twitter. Almost instantly, the Internet went crazy with theories that this cancellation might just be related to Joey Bada$$ viewing of the eclipse.

While the rapper is yet to comment on the cancellation and the reasons for it, folks are pretty adamant that the eclipse is the reason, especially when you consider that only a few hours after his cancellation announcement, Joey Bada$$ Tweeted the phrase “Seeing double, stacking triple.” Fat stacks or not, Mr. Bada$$, you were warned.
