We love Pretty City. We love their psych rock sound; their technical mastery; their tight, fuzzed-out tracks. So when we heard they were jetting off to Europe for a 20 show tour, we were beside ourselves: after all, a band as great as Pretty City deserve to be shared with the entire world. No use getting selfish and keeping them all for ourselves, is there?

The tour was a massive success, too: an incredible string of excellent shows, distinctly European sight-seeing tours, and a number of opportunities to show off some very unique hair-dos.

You can get an inside look at Pretty City’s European tour via the diary they shared with us, below.

Pretty City hitting up the Graz cathedral

“Upon arriving in Vienna, we loaded up our new home (a massive Opel Sprinter tour bud) with all our gear and headed to Arnie’s birthplace, Graz. Graz is a beautiful city with a medieval cathedral built into an enormous rock ledge on top of a mountain. What a great way to start the tour.”

Pretty City rocking some unique hair-dos

“Ken has become so famous since arriving in Europe that every petrol station now stocks his hat and hair, so you too can feel like an Aussie rock god. Needless to say, Johnny seized on the opportunity to emulate his idol.”

Pretty City by a mountainside

“Okay, Drew’s a giant dork. On the flight to Europe he watched the entire Lord Of The Rings trilogy back to back without a break. As a result of this feat of human nerdiness, he was making so many references to the films that the naturally misty mountains of Austria provided a fertile ground for his terrible Gimli/Gandalf impersonations. That didn’t got old fast. No, not at all…”

Pretty City conducting their soundcheck

“So, we arrive in Prague and played a forum-sized venue, full of people. It was a wonderful experience.”
