Australian music’s night of nights is set to celebrate its 30th birthday.

The 2016 ARIA Awards will mark a milestone for the most prestigious pointy prizes in Australian music, which have only grown in stature since Sir Elton John hosted the inaugural ceremony in 1987 at Sydney’s Sheraton Wentworth Hotel.

This year’s ceremony will return to The Star and celebrate not only 12 months of Aussie musical achievement, but three decades of performances and releases.

The special guests will be in abundance, and the hangovers across the music industry the next morning will be severe.

The 2016 ARIA Awards take place at The Star, and will be broadcast on Ten, on Wednesday November 23.
