An actor in his 20s was killed on the set of a video shoot “following a workplace incident in Brisbane city this afternoon”, A QLD Police spokesperson has confirmed.

Despite earlier claims that the shots were fired on the set on Pacific Rim, which is filming in the city, the production house have denied the incident happened on their set.

Many reports are coming out on social media that the shooting occurred at a bar called The Brooklyn Standard, believed to have been the set for a new Bliss N Eso video. None of these reports are as yet confirmed.

On January 4, Bliss N Eso made a now-deletedpost on their website looking for actors to appear in a new clip for the song ‘Friend Like You’, due to film over the weekend of January 21 and 22.

Twitter user Nordacious responded to AAP journalist, Shae McDonald, who had erroneously made the Pacific Rim connection, saying: “I work in that laneway – can confirm it was a Bliss N Eso music video shoot, not pacific rim.”

TheCourier-Mailhas also now reported that the shooting took place on the Bliss N Eso set.

“The incident occurred during a film shoot at the venue, for which Brooklyn Standard had been wholly rented out, outside of opening hours.

“We would like everyone to know that none of our staff were involved in the incident and everyone is safe, and we are doing everything we can to help the police investigation at this time.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of the individual involved, and we appreciate your respect and understanding at this time.”
