Antony and the Johnsons will perform two Australian exclusive concerts with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra at Dark Mofo this June.

The announcement of this program highlight comes ahead of the full lineup reveal forMona’s midwinter festival this Friday April 10.

Throughout theEnglish-born transgender artist’s career Antony Hegarty has performedwith symphony orchestras throughout the world, including The London Symphony Orchestra at the Barbican, The Chamber Orchestra of Sydney at Sydney Opera House, The Orchestra of St. Luke’s at Lincoln Center, and the Brooklyn Philharmonic at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.

Hegarty received the prestigious Mercury Prize for their second albumI am a Bird Now,was a musical director and performer in Robert Wilson’s opera,The Life and Death of Marina Abramović; andcollaborated with filmmaker Charles Atlas onTURNING; a series of live video portraits of 13 iconic trans- and cis-gendered women from downtown New York City’s art and nightlife community, just to name a few career highlights.
