Democracy in action.

The NSW Supreme Court has blocked Keep Sydney Open’s third scheduled rally, which was set to take place in Kings Cross this Saturday January 21.

According to a post on the Keep Sydney Open Facebook page, the authorities were notified of the plans to protest back on Monday January 9, but the NSW Police Commissioner only launched legal action to prevent the march at 4pm yesterday, Thursday January 19.

The sticking point is understood to be Keep Sydney Open’s plans to disrupt traffic on Darlinghurst Road, but given nobody goes there anyway, we have to wonder: what difference would it really make?
