It’s a double dose of good news for Pixies fans in Sydney. After their recent announcement on the Vivid LIVE bill, the alt-rock giants have announced a new album to be released next month.

Indie Cindy is its name, and it’ll be the first full studio LP for Pixies since 1991’s Trompe Le Monde. The release will drop on Friday April 25, in line with Record Store Day. Oh man, we’re all going to need a good sit down after this one.

The record will be available in a variety of formats, including a standard CD digipack, a two-disc 180-gram vinyl album and digital download.

The album features the current Pixies lineup of Black Francis on vocals and guitars, Joey Santiago on guitars and David Lovering on drums, plus Ding on bass and Jeremy Dubs contributing backing vocals.
