The Glen Street Theatre’s new show, The Life And Music Of Scott Joplin, will explore the life of the man widely known as the King of Ragtime.

Director by John Buchanan, we trace through the life of Ragtime’s pioneer, his backstory, early life and celebrate the music of America between the 1890s to the mid-19th century.

Melbourne’s outstanding ragtime piano player Stephen Grant and musical director Craig Mitten head a select group of nine musicians, all specialising in the music from the classic ragtime era, featuring Phil Harper (clarinet), Marcus Holden (violin), Geoff Power (trombone), Sandra Mitten (flute, piccolo), Chris King (piano), Ed Bastion (string bass), and Tanya Christensen (vocals).

Discover the incredible story of how Joplin became the ‘King of Ragtime’ accompanied by Australia’s finest ragtime musicians.

The Life And Music Of Scott Joplin is playing on Friday July 24 and Saturday July 25 at the Glen Street Theatre.
