It’s hard to believe 12 months have passed since Australian cricket lost a favourite son.

In the lead-up to the one-year anniversary this Friday of the death of beloved Australian cricketer Phillip Hughes, who was felled when he was struck in the head by a ball at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Elefant Traks label head and rapper Urthboy has released a tribute song on YouTube.

Urthboy, otherwise known as Tim Levinson, is a prominent cricket fan, having appeared on ABC Radio podcasts to share his love for the game. ‘Nambucca Boy’ is a moving tribute to Hughes, whose life tragically ended at the age of 25, days before he was expected to make a return to the Australian Test cricket team.
