Another music festival has bitten the dust, as Out On The Weekend has cancelled the Sydney edition of its 2015 event just days in advance.

The Kasey Chambers-headlined Sydney spinoff of the Melbourne-born Americana and country festival was due to take place this Saturday October 24. Organisers have now announced that lack of ticket sales mean the festival will not proceed as scheduled at Bella Vista Farm.

“We regret to advise that due to less than anticipated ticket sales, we are no longer proceeding with Out On The Weekend at Bella Vista Farm on October 24.

“While our expectations were not huge, we are greatly surprised at the lack of sales and cannot proceed both financially or logistically with the number of tickets sold,” promoters told The Music.

The festival was a success in Melbourne over the weekend. In the wake of the Sydney cancellation, the organisers are offering ticketholders free entry to the sideshow byJamestown Revival on Thursday October 22 at Newtown Social Club, or the show bySam Outlaw, Jonny Fritz, Shelly Colvin and Robert Ellis at the same venue on Sunday October 25.
