It was a big cause for celebration when rock icons Live brought their original lineup back together late last year, and now Australia can catch the multi-platinum outfit as they play a three-date run this November as part of their worldwide reunion tour.

It’ll be the first time the classic lineup of Ed Kowalczyk (vocals, guitar), Chad Taylor (guitar, backing vox), Patrick Dahlheimer (bass) and Chad Gracey (drums, percussion) have played together on Australian soil since the 2000s, and comes just in time to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their seminal debut album, Mental Jewelry.

It was their seminal Throwing Copper two years later that Australia really fell in love with, though, sending them on their way to a massive five spots in the triple j Hottest 100, and lodging itself at #1 on the ARIA charts on its way to 8 x platinum success.

After finding his way back to the band last year, founding vocalist Ed Kowakczyk is stoked to finally be heading back to the country that, along with the U.S., is home to Live’s biggest fans.

“The band couldn’t be more excited to return to Australia and celebrate our reunion,” he says. “We are having the time of our lives and can’t wait to share this experience with our fans down under. It’s gonna be amazing!”

According to Ed, the band haven’t skipped a beat in their time apart, and playing together again after that time off brings with it a new level of thrill onstage.

“It was pretty magical,” he told YDR of their first shows back together. “It was this weird combo of this is like riding a bike … It’s a routine, something you’re used to. But there was this new aspect. There was this freshness to it that I know came from, of course, the long break we had.”

“Live is really about the four boys that started at the age of 13, and there’s no changing that ever.”

Recent setlists have us excited for what’s in store, hitting the high notes of hits like ‘Lightning Crashes’, ‘Pain Lies on the Riverside’, ‘The Dolphin’s Cry’, ‘All Over You’, ‘Lakini’s Juice’ and ‘Selling The Drama’, so we’re in for a full-on celebration of Live’s storied history.

Better yet, they’ll have the L.A pairing of Lifehouse and The Calling in support for some added 2000s rock nostalgia as they make their way to Brisbane and Melbourne, as well as a special gig for NSW fans in the Hunter Valley’s Roche Estate, dates below.

There will be strictly three shows, so make sure you sign up for the pre-sale right now to avoid missing out, before general sale tickets go on sale on July 27.
