Back in October, we were given the huge news that Sydney is about to play host to one of the coolest music festivals going around, Sydney City Limits. The international cousin of the world-renowned Austin City Limits festival, the debut lineup already had a massive lineup, but now organisers have done the unthinkable and added even more acts to this already stacked bill.

The festival’s inaugural edition was announced to have an absolutely intense lineup that included some huge international names, such as Justice, Grace Jones, Beck, Phoenix, and The Libertines, as well as a raft of Aussie talent, including Vance Joy, Dune Rats, The Avalanches, Gang Of Youths, and Bad//Dreems, but now the festival has gotten even bigger thanks to a new list of local and international guests.

Joining the Sydney City Limits lineup for 2018 is international hip-hop legends Future and Young Thug, giving fans the chance to catch them after a series of misfortunes left fans wanting earlier in the year.

Young Thug had initially been set to visit Australia with Laneway Festival earlier this year but sadly cancelled, while Future was forced to pull out of Listen Out in Sydney due to the death of a close friend. Needless to say, hip-hop heads will be keen to scope out these huge acts.

On the local front, L D R U and Mallrat join the ranks, as does Stella Donnelly, who wraps up a huge 2017 which saw her win the inaugural Levi’s Music Prize at BIGSOUND, and take home the J Award for Unearthed Artist of the Year.

Plenty of acts have also announced sideshows as well, so if you won’t find yourself in Sydney on February 24th, you can always head along to one of the other gigs happening around the country.

Tickets to Sydney City Limits are on sale now, but with a lineup this good, the chances of them hanging around much longer are starting to look pretty slim.
