If you hate dogs then you will want to clear steer of the Hordern Pavilion and Royal Hall of Industries on the first weekend of August, and possibly also re-examine why it is you feel this way about our four-legged friends.

The Dog Lovers Show is on August 5-6, from 9:30am until 5pm both days, and features demonstrations of doggy excellence that will have you glaring angrily at your untrained mutt when you get home.

“Things are going to change around here”, you’ll say sternly to your dog after witnessing the Hero Dog Tribute, featuring working and military dogs, as well as therapy and assistance dogs, although there is also a ‘Breed Showcase’, ‘Rescue Dog Zone’ and free vet, grooming, and training advice to make you feel that perhaps all is not lost where it comes to your own terribly-behaved animal.

Things get progressively weirder with the KONG Celebrity Vet Stage, a Perfect Match zone, which may or may not be unsanctioned dog coupling, a Pat-A-Pooch area featuring a bunch of strange dogs for you to touch, and an Insta-Pooch zone, where “visitors will get the opportunity to snap selfies and meet some of Sydney’s most famous and notable canine Instagram stars.” It’s your fault for reading this far.
