The winners of the first ever Lexus Australia Short Film Fellowship will have their films premiered at a special event as part of the Sydney Film Festival.

During last year’s festival, a jury chaired by celebrated Australian actress Judy Davis decided on the inaugural recipients of the fellowship. Each of the four winning filmmakers was awarded a $50,000 grant by Lexus Australia to assist in the making of their short films. And now they’re ready to be premiered.

The 2016 fellowship recipients are Anya Beyersdorf’s How the Lights Get In, Brooke Goldfinch’s Outbreak Generation, Alex Ryan’s Red Ink and Alex Murawski’s Snow. The films will be screened at Dendy Opera Quays on Tuesday June 13 from 6pm.

Actor David Wenham chairs this year’s jury, which have already selected 20 finalists for the 2017 fellowship.

Tickets are on sale now to catch last year’s winners premiere their hard work.
