Next year’s Chinese New Year Festival will see the city strut its stuff when celebrations for the Year Of The Rooster take over town.

In one of the biggest celebrations of the Lunar New Year outside of Asia, the city will be enveloped in lunar lanterns of spectacular zodiac designs, trailed around town from the Opera House to Dawes Point.

Designed by Australian-Chinese artists, the lanterns will create a wonderfully vibrant precinct around the harbour for families and visitors to explore.

The City will also light up the most famous landmarks in auspicious red for three nights to welcome the Year of the Rooster, highlighting the sails of the Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Circular Quay Station, Sydney Town Hall and other landmarks.

Shake a tail feather for the Year Of The Rooster for the 2017 Sydney Chinese New Year Festival from Friday January 27 to Sunday February 12.
