Starting out with a bang, or a twang rather, 2017 marks the inaugural year of the Sydney Guitar Festival. Seven special events will showcase live performances from many of the instrument’s aficionados, including tributes to Chuck Berry and Eric Clapton, plus appearances by classical guitarist Paco Peña, and ARIA winner Sarah McLeod.
Local and international artists will take to some of the most diverse and iconic stages that stretch across this city. From August 23 to 26, the Enmore Theatre, The Concourse, the Factory Theatre and Venue 505 will all host an array of musicians for the festival.
The Sydney Guitar Festival hopes to make this the first of many guitar-loving festivals to come. Check out the venues’ websites in order to get your string-strumming hands on some tickets.
