The last fortnight saw the rise of one of the most intriguing memes for music lovers. You know the one, the ‘playlist for my crush’ meme, in which the song titles listed a message to the intended recipient. Well, one US Senator has decided to take a more subtle approach to this, and has shown his true feelings towards Donald Trump in a recent Spotify playlist.

As Pitchfork reports, New York Senator Chuck Schumer decided to mark the 100th day of Donald Trump’s presidency by releasing a Spotify playlist which seems to include a number of tracks whose titles appear to be a thinly-veiled jab at Trump.

Tracks included in the playlist are Tame Impala’s ‘New Person, Same Old Mistakes’, Stevie Wonder’s ‘You Haven’t Done Nothin”, Eagles’ ‘Lyin’ Eyes’, and Beyoncé & Shakira’s ‘Beautiful Liar’, though we do have to take issue with the idea of calling him beautiful.

Other brilliant choices of note in the Senator’s playlist include B.B. King’s ‘Fool Me Once’, Thompson Twins’ ‘Lies’, and Stevie Wonder’s ‘He’s A Misstra Know-It-All’, with Schumer clearly not hiding his true feelings.

The rest of the playlist includes some other great tunes, with many of them not quite being an attack on Trump, with some just seemingly singing the praises of the fabled American values that many Americans wish to keep. So who knows, maybe the choice of these tracks was a mere coincidence, or maybe Senator Schumer really isn’t a Trump fan? We’re pretty sure we’re going to go with the latter, though. Have a look through the playlist and judge for yourself below.
