“Why would it be?” Daniel Johnston asked a NY Times reporter when being quizzed on whether his current tour — billed as his last — would actually be his final run of shows.

Hopefully this isn’t Johnston’s final stand — we need at least one more Aussie tour, please — but if it is, he is certainly going out on a high, being backed by Silversun Pickups, Built to Spill, Ben Lee, and various other indie legends in different cities.

This weekend found Johnston in Chicago, where he was joined on stage by Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy.
