It’s only a matter of days until Yours & Owls kicks off in Wollongong, but what good would a brilliant festival be without a few last minute hiccups?

Yours & Owls is set to hit up Wollongong’s Stuart Park over the weekend of September 30th and October 1st, and will feature a number of fantastic international local acts, such as At The Drive-In and Le Butcherettes, and locals like The Presets, Dune Rats, and Bad//Dreems. However, a number of days out from the fest, there’s been a slight lineup change.

Sadly, festival announcers have made it known that Major Leagues are unfortunately unable to play Yours & Owls this weekend, though the reason for their cancellation hasn’t been made known. On the plus side though, the festival has scored a suitable replacement, by way of the killer WAAX.

WAAX are currently having an absolutely banner year, having been named as one of the must-see bands at this year’s BIGSOUND, and have scored a tasty support slot for Yours & Owls acts Dune Rats and Wavves. Turning heads wherever they go, WAAX are undoubtedly going to be one of the highlights of the weekend when they take to the stage on Saturday afternoon.

To further add excitement into the mix though, Yours & Owls have also announced that they’ll be screening the AFL and NRL footy finals this weekend, just in case you had to compromise your love of sports when it came to your love of music.

The AFL Grand Final between the Richmond Tigers & Adelaide Crows kicks off at 2:30pm on Saturday, September 30th, while the NRL’s Melbourne Storm & North Queensland Cowboys match takes place at 7:15pm on Sunday, October 1st.

Yours & Owls kicks off in Wollongong this Saturday, with final release tickets now available. Be sure to head along and experience one of the finest festivals on offer in Australia this year.

In the meantime, check out WAAX’s ‘Wild And Weak’, below.
