Music and Entertainment Communications Manager

International communications and talent agency inside out is expanding and on the look out for a Sydney based strategist to join the growing international team.

If you have a keen interest in music, entertainment, media and experience across radio, TV, print and the ever evolving digital landscape this role is for you.

Enthusiasm and drive to help build and shape a local office  within a growing international agency will be key to success. 

Reporting to the Directors, this role will involve running creative publicity campaigns across entertainment, music and events in market is Australia and working closely with the international team as well as seeking out and driving new business.

Working with Inside Out’s hugely exciting international and domestic client roster and organisations including Sydney WorldPride, Sydney Mardi Gras and Green Music Australia potential applicants will have plenty of initiative, and a solid understanding of The Australian media landscape.

 A minimum of two years  agency or label experience is required as is an interest in music, digital platforms and the wider entertainment industry. Reporting to the directors, this role will involve planning and executing  creative publicity campaigns across entertainment, music and events as well as seeking out and driving new business.

Key responsibilities and duties

  • To develop, outline and implement creative multimedia PR campaigns
  • To work closely with the Director and identify opportunities within the local market
  • To attend potential client meetings, preparing proposals, pitches and presentations
  • To develop and strengthen relationships with record labels, brands, managers and prospective clients to continue winning new business
  • To work closely with international teams to create cohesive, effective international PR strategies 
  • Weekly triple J serving and relationship management
  • Booking TV appearances, performances and video features
  • To network at and attend events relevant to company growth and new business
  • To attend relevant artist events including performances, meetings and promo for artists across the company roster
  • To write and distribute press releases
  • To effectively report on campaigns according the standard company protocol
  • To attend and work across festivals and events as required
  • To oversee, manage and mentor junior staff as required
  • To maintain awareness of industry news and developments as well as broader social current affairs

Key skills

  • A passion and enthusiasm for music, entertainment and media
  • A minimum of three years experience in media/ music/ entertainment
  • A desire to join an international team with a goal of delivering results across territories
  • The ability to think creatively across all media formats to create dynamic, cohesive campaigns
  • A good understanding of how to write effective press releases
  • Strong relationships with media contacts across all areas of arts, style, fashion and news media for broadcast, print, digital, audio, video, podcasts and content creation
  • Ability to prioritise busy workloads
  • A passion for seeking out new techniques and creative ideas across social, digital, broadcast and press
