Job Title:  SYNCHRONISATION MANAGER

 

A little bit about our team:

 

The Synchronisation Team at Warner Chappell Music work across both Australia and New Zealand. The role of the Licensing Department is to strategically maximise the exploitation of our musical works in all media, including advertising, film, television, and online, and offer our writers and clients a fully comprehensive licensing service. The primary responsibility of the Synchronisation Manager is to facilitate the exploitation of our musical works, by proactively seeking new business opportunities, managing and maintaining client relationships at the highest level, and providing incredible service to our industry partners.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate. You will be managing client relationships, working internally to discover the best new music and hidden catalogue gems and have the pleasure of dealing with an incredible global network.

 

Here you’ll get to:

  • Collaborate with songwriters, producers, and artists to understand their music and vision for effective pitching and promotion.

  • Actively pitch music to advertising, film, and TV communities to secure sync opportunities.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with sync partners, including music supervisors, gaming companies, and film/TV studios.

  • Manage approvals, provide quotes, and clear copyright for domestic and international synchronisation requests.

  • Sync pitching across all media 

  • Developing and curating themed playlists for quick music searches for our clients 

  • Engage in new business development by making new connections and attending events, with occasional travel where required.

 

The successful candidate will be focused primarily on working with Music Supervisors, TV Networks, Creative Agencies and Production Companies to deliver the best music solutions for their programs and productions. The role will also be working across creative pitching, deal negotiation, clearance with managers or affiliates and issuing of Licenses

 

About you:

 

You’re a music loving, focused and diligent Sync professional. As an experienced and talented deal maker who can both close a deal and execute the required admin with a great eye for detail. You’re just as comfortable picking up the phone to work through a project as you are working autonomously to adhere to deadlines. You can juggle the needs of the internal business with those of external parties and are ready to take on a challenge with a rewarding result you can see on the screen. You have: 

  • At least 4 years of experience in the Australian and/or New Zealand music industry, specifically in synchronisation or related fields.

  • Strong knowledge of music publishing, licensing, sync market dynamics, and relevant terminology.

  • Experience in drafting and negotiating contracts and licensing terms.

  • Proven ability to close deals and manage associated administrative tasks with a high level of accuracy.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both with internal teams and external clients.

  • Highly organised, with strong time management and attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in Google Suite (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets), Mailchimp

  • Ability to work autonomously while balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders and deadlines.
