They’ll also be streaming their new album ahead of its scheduled release in October.

Australiana pop group Shining Bird have played alongside music artists such as Kurt Vile, Franz Ferdinand, The Drones and more, and have appeared in different festivals such as Fairgrounds Fstival and Sydney Festival among others. Now they’ve created Black Opal; a dreamy compilation that was inspired by the band’s trekking journey to remote lookouts and their exposure to classic Australian films.

The album includes the well-known Rivermouth track that won the SMAC award, along with acclaimed track Helluva Lotand new single I Can Run. Shining Bird will be streaming it ahead of its release via The Music, and they’ll also be launching it through their Australia tour.

Check out Black Opal when it’s officially released on Friday October 7. Shining Bird will also play at the Newtown Social Club on Wednesday November 16. Tickets available via the venue’s website.
