The Organisation

Support Act delivers crisis relief services to musicians, managers, crew and music workers who are unable to work due to ill health, injury, mental health, or some other crisis. Other services include the Support Act Wellbeing Helpline, and life-saving mental health prevention, education, and training programs.
  
Support Act raises funds through donations, sponsorship, community fundraising, Help a Mate appeals, and events such as the annual Music in the House industry fundraiser, and Ausmusic T-Shirt Day.

The Role

Reporting to the CEO, this position is responsible for development and execution of impactful marketing and communication strategies to enhance brand presence in alignment with Support Act’s mission and goals.  Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage media relations, cause communications and campaigns across digital and social channels, print, online, and broadcast media
  • Co-create and deliver the marketing strategy to support fundraising initiatives
  • Reporting on campaign analytics and providing data-driven strategies
  • Manage content development and stakeholder engagement in campaigns

  
Skills Required

You have excellent all-round communication, marketing, project management, and strategy development skills with the ability to plan and write content via a range of mediums. Your public relations knowledge is also an advantage including your exposure to the media and digital media landscape. The successful candidate will have a genuine connection to the Australian music or creative arts industries.
  
You will have strategic planning skills and the hands-on experience to implement and be accountable for your strategy and campaigns.  Additionally, your experience includes:

  • Utilisation of the latest marketing tools, including social media and digital marketing to reach target audiences
  • Ability to identify and develop engaging content to gain media coverage and support fundraising efforts
  • Management of websites (WordPress), databases (Salesforce), and email marketing systems (Mailchimp, Campaign Monitor) and Analytics (Google and Tag Manager)
